Liability waiver.

Every Golden Horizon passenger signs a short liability waiver before stepping into the basket. We reproduce the text in full below so you can read it at your own pace, with whoever you’d like, before the morning of your flight.

The waiver is signed digitally inside our booking flow, or on paper at the field. It applies to every adult passenger; minors are signed for by a parent or guardian.

I acknowledge that hot air balloon flight is inherently a weather-dependent activity that involves risks, including but not limited to:

• Hard or unbalanced landings, including landings on uneven terrain;
• Sudden weather changes, including unexpected wind, precipitation, or temperature drops;
• Equipment behaviour outside the operator’s direct control;
• Health risks associated with cold morning air and altitude.

I have read the pre-flight briefing materials provided by Golden Horizon and have asked any questions I had.

I confirm that:

• I am in good general health.
• I am not pregnant in my third trimester.
• I am not under the influence of alcohol or unprescribed drugs.
• I can stand for the duration of the flight (approximately one hour).
• I can step into a basket of approximately one metre in height.

If any of the above changes between booking and the morning of the flight, I will inform the pilot before boarding.

I will follow all instructions given by the pilot-in-command and the ground crew before, during, and after the flight. I acknowledge that the pilot has final authority on all safety matters, including the decision to delay, abort, or land the flight at any time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I release Golden Horizon Ballooning Ltd, its directors, pilots, crew, and contractors from claims arising out of ordinary risks of ballooning, while expecting them to operate according to professional aviation standards.

Nothing in this waiver releases Golden Horizon from liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by their negligence-these rights are protected by law and cannot be waived.

I understand that Golden Horizon photographers and pilots may capture photos and video during the flight. I grant Golden Horizon permission to use these images for service delivery and editorial / social marketing, attributed only by first name and initial. I may withdraw this permission at any time by writing to contact@ghballooning.com.

By signing the waiver in the booking flow or at the field, I confirm that I have read and understood it, and that I am signing of my own free will.

Digital signatures captured through the booking flow are legally equivalent to a physical signature in the jurisdiction of the flight.
